Brazil Immersion
2004 – 2007

Spent 2 ½ years in Brazil living and working in Porto Alegre, Brazil. I documented my "Black Beans & Rice" everyday experiences on my website (www.iid8.com), comprising stories, pictures, videos, and a special "digit$" section devoted to illuminating the differences in cost of living between Brazil and the U.S.

Worked with this research group to persuade people to adopt a mobile text reader (BuddyBuzz) that flashed one word at a time on a cell phone's screen. We re-branded the service as a community reader, motivating users to read more and share the stories they enjoyed.
