Paradise on $5,000 a Year?

So, as you can see, the projection for the year is still inching closer to the $6,000 mark and away from the $5,000 mark - not good.

The biggest expenses in April were a wedding gift for my wonderful friend ($70) and the first payment for my Portuguese class ($130)

A note on taxes and flights: I owed a bundle on taxes this year, and did not include that in my count to the left. Also, I bought my ticket back to the States for my HS reunion in August, and this ticket was not included in the pursuit of life here on $5,000.
